Bristol is a thriving, attractive university City with historic links dating back to Anglo Saxon times. Rich in history yet full of every modern day amenity, Bristol is regarded as the South-West’s major commercial and retail centre. It boasts its own airport and exceptional rail and road links. Throughout the City a wealth of stunning architecture and buildings from every historical age can be found, notably the magnificent Cathedral, the Lord Mayor’s Chapel and the original atmosphere of the narrow lanes of the Old Town. In the 16th century Bristol was a major port and the famous liner SS Great Britain can now be seen in the harbour.
The harbourside is currently undergoing extensive regeneration and is becoming a significant part of the City.
Bristol is home to the oldest theatre in England - The Old Vic – and has many museums and art galleries.
